Exhibition Reflection
Prior learning
What methods, theories, ideas and skills that you learned or used in class/current curriculum/other experiences were useful in completing this project?
Throughout the project I learned a lot about making infographics using venngage and how to manage my time better during projects and equally split up the work in the group.
Present experience
What are two of the most significant things you did during the experience? Through those actions, how did you contribute to the success of the project?
Two of the most significant things i did during the project were getting my writing portion done as soon as I could so we would have time to make them all fit together. The second thing I did was make sure I left myself with plenty of time to make my infographic the best I could.
In what ways did you experience difficulties (e.g., interacting with others, accomplishing tasks) and what personal characteristics contributed to the difficulties (e.g., skills, abilities, perspectives, attitudes, tendencies, knowledge)?
I feel like I did a good job at pulling own weight during the project, but there were a few times where we had to ask another group member to do there work and not do other things on there computer.
What assumptions or conceptions (about yourself, others, or how things work) were confirmed or contradicted by the experience?
I think that we all did what everyone else in the group thought we were going to do.
What did you learn about your subject matter/research area that you had not known prior to having completed this project?
During the project I learned a lot about the different macroinvertebrates living in the animas river and how the spill affected them.
If you could do the project again, what might you do differently to achieve improved results?
If I was going to redo the project I would use a different website then venngage that is easier to use.
Your future
What could be the implications of what you learned from this experience for your future work/research/career?
This could help me in the future with marketing if i have a job in that or completing projects to the best of my ability in the workplace.
What skills, knowledge, or experience did you wish you had prior to attempting this project that would have aided you to get more from the experience and/or achieve a better outcome?
I wish that i had more experience with venngage before this project because I feel like that would have saved a lot of time.
How well did the activities focused on in this experience mesh with your learning style?
The activities that we did worked well with my learning style but I feel like I work better when I have a say in the groups.
How will having participated in this experience change how you approach projects/tasks/research in the future?
I don’t really think that this project will change anything that I would do in future projects, but it might help me find better ways to improve what i’ve already been doing.
